Hot new carpet trends ready to brighten up your home this summer

Like a wallcovering, carpet can change the look of your room dramatically. The latest styles are bold, but there are also some great understated designs around if you prefer a more subtle look. We take a look at the hottest carpet trends.

Boldly Coloured Carpet

Colours are becoming bolder, with designs in rich red, chocolate brown and beautiful tones of blue, from navy to aqua. Coloured carpet can be used successfully in all rooms. Rich tones will look smart in living and dining areas, while the softer shades are an ideal choice for bedrooms. If you’re buying a coloured carpet to fit with existing furniture and wall colour, take a sample home to make sure it works in your interior.

Patterned Carpet

Pattern is growing in popularity again, especially smart stripes and checks. When choosing a pattern, the general rule is that larger and bolder patterns are best suited to bigger rooms. Carpets with small patterns in a mix of colours are good for busy rooms as they can help disguise day-to-day wear and marks, whereas bright colours can make a real style statement.
